Eerie sydney morning fog… Here’s hoping I don’t get attacked dementors on the way to work #thinkhappythoughts
I’m so glad this guy got to make an guest appearance on Glee. I’m feeling inspired to watch Pitch Perfect.
Hello Tumblr. It’s been a while. I think it’s about time I updated this more regularly. I thought about discarding this but then I realised that in our modern world of technology, doing that is probably the equivalent of Ginny Weasley tossing Tom Riddle’s diary into the loo… it’s probably not going to get rid of all evidence of its existence and alas there is no virtual basilisk fang at my disposal. So instead, being the mildly opinionated person I am, I made the conscious decision to keep this because there’s some amusement in looking back on all the things you write. Thus as a consequence of keeping this, I will endeavour to update this more regularly even if it is just a random insight or a review of a film or movie.
Yesterday, I made the somewhat untimely decision to watch Non-Stop,
which regrettably got the conspiracy theorist in me thinking a lot about what happened to MH370. It was very much like Taken meets 24 meets Speed but set on a plane - very exciting and thrilling but requires the audience to suspend their belief in order to accept the events which transpire in the film. The idea of someone threatening to kill passengers on board a plane every 20 minutes (and succeeding) is a very big ask on the audience’s part and there are far too many coincidences in the film for it to be grounded in any sort of reality. Not that I’m saying that it isn’t possible.. it’s just highly improbable.
Unfortunately, part of the decision to watch this movie was that I had seen all the other more highly rated movies on rotten tomatoes and was left with the choice between Non-Stop and 300 (and I haven’t heard any positive things about 300). In hindsight I should’ve waited a week or so then I’d have a plethora of choice (hello Captain America, Divergent and the Lego Movie). If I hadn’t been in that situation I might not have seen Non-Stop at all. It’s definitely entertaining on a Saturday afternoon but it’s not life changing enough to go out of your way to see it. I’ll give an honorable mention to Liam Neeson though. For a guy in his sixties, he can still pull off a pretty badass action hero.
